Other Volunteer Info
We can always use volunteers!
We can always use as many judges as possible to keep the flights short and things moving along at a more relaxed pace. We welcome provisional judges, non-BJCP professionals in the industry, cicerones, etc. We balance out judge experience as much as possible and pair vetrans/instructors with newer judges to make it a good calibraion/learning experience.
No experience is necessary to be a Steward, which involves sitting with the judges, handling entries, judging matierals, and light paperwork. Traiing is provided and judges will help you too! You get to sample the entries, listen to what the judges have to stay about each entiry and why the beer scored the way it did.. It's a great way to learn styles and what defines an excellent beer versus a flawed beer.
